Zbigniew John Banach

65, of New Lenox, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 14, 2020. Zbig was born in Chicago to the late Bruno and Sophie (nee Marcez) Banach. Beloved husband of Sylvia (nee Lokos); loving father of Rachel (Joshua) Sears, Joseph (Patricia) Banach, Jennifer (Pascal) Banach Geertjes; cherished grandfather of Jackson Sears, Juniper Sears, Owen Banach, and Finn Banach; dear brother of Lester Banach and Cecelia (John) Ogden. Zbig received his BS from Purdue University (Engineering) and his Masters from Northwestern University (Kellogg School of Management). He retired as a Senior Engineer / Superintendent of Technical Training after 40 years of service at Exelon Corp / ComEd. He then spent 6 years at Olenick & Assoc. (contracted to Exelon) as Senior Lead Consultant, Utility Project Manager / Transfer Monitoring Specialist. Zbig was a long-time member and past President of Brewers of South Suburbia (BOSS) where he was two-time winner of the Chicago Cup. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 1:00pm until time of Memorial Service at 3:00pm.
