William C Nothof Sr.

January 13, 1944 — July 24, 2025

New Lenox, IL

William C. Nothof, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 24th, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family.

William Sr. is preceded in death by his dear wife Bea, sister Marie (Ben) Millner, brother Pete (Judy) Nothof, and his buddy Henry (his dog). He is survived by his sons William “Bill” (Chris) Nothof, Robert “Bob” (Terry) Nothof, and daughters Tina (John) Pesavento, Cathy (Eric) Erickson, and Vicki (late Tom) Sievert. He was a loving grandfather to Ashley (Mike Perry) Erickson, Brittany (Adam Badal) Nothof, Michael (Torie) Sasser, Courtney Erickson, Becca (Zach) King, Nick Nothof, Brandy Erickson, Anthony (Libby) Pesavento, Zachary Sasser, Angela (Alexander) Charles, and a proud great grandfather to Makayla, Ashley, and Cole Perry, Makayla Toughey, Kennedy Hjalmeby, Dalilah and Amelia Badal, Lili Simington, and Hayden and Carson Nothof

He was born in Chicago on January 13th, 1944 to the late Peter and Marie (Mitchell) Nothof. After living in multiple states through his childhood, he returned to the Chicago area where he met the love of his life. Bill and Bea were married on June 8th, 1963, and enjoyed over 50 years together before she passed away in 2015. Their relationship was a shining example of what true love really is, and we believe that they are now happily reunited.

Bill was a retiree of the Local 597 Pipefitters Union, but his true calling was spending quality time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Uncle Bud was very active in the life of his loved ones, serving as Commissioner of the New Lenox baseball league and even helping to build the fields so that his children and other local kids could play. He even taught all of his children how to work on cars so that they’d always be prepared.

Bill was also a huge Christmas geek. After midnight mass, he’d be so excited to celebrate the day with his family that he’d only let his kids sleep for a few minutes before waking them up. He was an avid Chicago sports fan, especially the Bears and Cubs. Other things he loved were camping at Meneoka, puzzling, golfing, and bowling.
