Walter James Siggins, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and devotion to family and friends.
Born in Chicago on September 13, 1940, Walter lived a full and meaningful life defined by service, compassion, and a generous spirit. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a role he carried with pride throughout his life.
Walter was a devoted father to his sons, Rich and John, and his daughter, and an especially proud grandfather to Ana, Alex, Ryan, Laney, Trent, and Maggie. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with family, sharing stories, laughter, and creating lasting memories together.
He shared a special bond with animals and had a lifelong love for dogs, cats, and his beloved bird, Buddy. His gentle heart and caring nature were evident in the kindness he showed not only to animals but to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Walter is survived by his sister, Delores, and was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathleen and Jean.
Those who knew Walter will remember his sense of humor, his loyalty, his love of family, and his ability to make people feel welcome and cared for. His life was one filled with warmth, friendship, and countless moments that will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Walter’s life at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, located at 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, Illinois 60423.
