Wade McCallon

Wade McCallon passed away peacefully on June 25 2025 with his loving family by his side. Wade was born in Murray, Ky where he grew up working on the family farm. He developed a strong work ethic that defined his life. He graduated from Calloway High School, Murray, KY and went on to receive his Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineer and Business Management from Prairie State College, Chicago Heights, IL. Wade was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Cartersville, GA where he found spiritual strength and a welcoming parish. He worked for Thrall Car Manufacturing Company, Chicago Heights, IL. Wade worked many positions Forman, Supervisor and then Director of Tooling & Fixturing. The Duchossois Family in 1984 purchased the remaining shares of Thrall Car owned by the Thrall Family and then the company operated as part of Duchossois Industries. In 2001, Thrall Car was sold to Trinity Rail Car Manufacturing Co. and Craig Duchossois served on the board of Trinity Directors. Wade continued for 7 more years working for the company as Director of Tooling & Fixturing in Fort Worth, TX , Dallas, TX, Cartersville, GA and two plants in Mexico until he retired after 40 years of Service. Upon his retirement Wade enjoyed golfing, traveling and being with family and friends. He enjoyed watching all sports especially his favorite NBA team the Chicago Bulls. He never missed a game. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nadine Eldora (Tutt) McCallon, Father, Jesse James McCallon; Maternal Grandmother Gertie (Spann) Tutt, Grandfather Otis Tutt; Paternal Grandmother Esther (Hays) McCallon and Grandfather Holly McCallon; and two brothers Clifton McCallon and Glen McCallon. Survived by his loving wife Dolores (Swingler) McCallon, son Wade McCallon, wife Soledad McCallon, two daughters, Rhonda LaPato and Donna McCallon. Survived by seven grandchildren: Jason McCallon, Joseph McCallon, Krista LaPato, Kyle LaPato, Isabella Fernandez, Mayra Fernandez, Andrea Fernandez. Great-grandchildren, Luka Paul McGarr, Raina Mae McCallon, Adam Francis Higgins. Survived by four brothers, Joe Pat McCallon, ( Diane), Edward Kent McCallon (Louise) Jerry McCallon (Rita), Don McCallon and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins of the Gurney, Swingler, Tutt, McCallon, Hays, Smith and Fernandez families. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL from 8:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass following at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W.
