Tony Calcaterra, aged 88, passed away on July 27, 2018. Tony is a Korean War veteran and served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955. Brother of Michael (Maureen) Calcaterra, Tony follows his late sisters Anne (Elmer) Conkle, Florence (Ralph) Soch, Mary (Jerry) Messenger, Frances (William) Baker, and Josephine (Rush) Burak. Tony is the former husband of Patricia Woodin and the late Loretta Calcaterra.
As the beloved father of Patricia (Richard) Anderson, Jeannine (George) Antczak, Tony (Pamela) Calcaterra, Faith (David) Stewart, Mary Calcaterra (Bruce Nordling), Michele (Mark) Adair, and Steve (Wendy) Calcaterra, Tony’s legacy includes 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and spoiled fantastically.
His grandchildren will remember him as a kind heart with a fondness for planes, the Cubs, and automobiles, whose ability to live in and appreciate moments-entirely present-is a quality few can accomplish with such ease. Tony was a man who preferred the kid’s table, never turning down a chance to play; it is this lightness and warmth that will be most remembered and missed.
