Thomas Alan Jennings

Thomas Alan Jennings 70 of Portage, IN and Fort Myers, FL passed away at his home in Portage, IN on July 12. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Barb of 45 years, his children: Amanda (Jon) Voyt, Michelle (Ian) Rolon, and Matthew (Becky) Jennings; grandchildren: Lily, William, and Benjamin; mother, Laraine and late father Bob Jennings; brothers: Larry (Linda) Jennings, Rick (Brenda) Jennings, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Tom and Barbara raised their family who he was devoted to in Frankfort before moving to Portage, IN and becoming snowbirds in Fort Myers. The proprietor of Tom’s Cabinets of Chicago for 40 years until his retirement. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. Always active and an avid outdoorsman, Tom loved fishing and took an annual Canadian fishing trip the last 44 years. Together, Tom and Barbara enjoyed volleyball, bowling, bags, hiking, biking and most recently pickleball. He loved being Grandpa Tom to his three grandchildren.

Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, July 20th from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of Memorial Service at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6201 Vollmer Road, Matteson, IL 60443.

Memorials in Tom’s name may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Midwest Muskies of Alsip, both where Tom had been an active member for many years and VNA Hospice of Northwestern Indiana.
