Thomas J. Cowfer

Age 82, of Joliet, formerly of Frankfort, passed away Sunday, July 27th, 2025 at his home in Joliet.

Thomas is survived by his loving family, wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Cowfer (Anselmino), daughter, Patricia “Patty” (Michael) Fitzgerald, grandchildren, Amanda (Bernice) Cowfer Chavez and Robert Fitzgerald.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Pauline Cowfer (Hamburger).

Thomas was a United States Air Force Veteran and formerly attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Frankfort. He also was a former Bus Driver for Lincoln Way Community High School.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Saturday, August 16th, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be greatly appreciated.
