63, of New Lenox, formerly of Midlothian passed away at home on Thursday, August 4, 2016. Steven was born in St. Charles, IL to Raymond and the late Laverne (nee Johnson) Grothaus. Beloved husband of Alice (nee Cholewa); loving father of Melissa (Terry II) Saberhagen and Kirsten Grothaus; dear brother of Pamela (Jeffrey) Parr, Susan (Robert) Chaffin, Karen Grothaus, Michael Grothaus and Richard Grothaus; fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Steven's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL 60451, on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 2 – 7pm. Funeral Monday, August 8, 2016 with 9:30am prayers at the funeral home to St. Jude Catholic Church 241 W. Second Ave. New Lenox for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
