Born on August 4, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, Sharon's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her career in the medical field, where she devoted over 30 years of service with compassion and skill.

Throughout her career, Sharon left an indelible mark on the lives of many, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sharon was deeply passionate about giving back to the community. She proudly volunteered for FFRC, a cat rescue organization, where her love for animals shone brightly.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Sharon embraced life with a zest that brought joy to all who knew her. She treasured moments spent with her family at Disney World, creating lasting memories that would forever warm hearts. Her adventurous spirit extended to the racetrack, where you could often find her on Friday nights, reveling in the thrill and excitement of the races.

Sharon’s contributions did not end there; she also ran a website for a Safari company in Africa, showcasing her talent for bridging her interests with her professional skills. Her proudest accomplishments are a testament to her diverse passions and her enthusiasm for life.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Andrew J. Grod; children: Anastasia Holland, Andrew R. Grod (Leslie McGinnis); grandchildren: Ashley (Christian) Oropeza, Samantha Holland (Jose Amador), Emma Grod, Chaz McGinnis, Landon McGinnis; sisters: Dawn (Jerry) Gaynor, Carole Sheehan.

She was proceeded in death by her parents: Gerit and Betty Knobbe; brothers: Thomas (Muff) Knobbe, Donnie Knobbe
