Sharon E. Froemling

Sharon E. Froemling, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 20, 2024 surrounded by family. 

Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years William Froemling; children, William D. (Sara) Froemling and Katherine (Patrick) Deane; grandson William J. Froemling; her sister Susan (Nicholas) Genemaras; her brother-in-law Francis Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  

She is preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Eleanor Gapinski; and her siblings Sandra Allen and Steven Gapinski.

Sharon loved to spend time in her garden tending to veggies or pruning flower beds. In her spare time she loved to spend time at the lake having fun and enjoying her family. She was a phenomenal cook, especially polish cuisine. Overall else though, she found great joy in her family and friends. She could often be found sitting at her kitchen table chatting on the phone for hours or visiting with loved ones. She was the sweetest woman and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. 

Services for Sharon will begin on Thursday, May 23, 2024 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road in New Lenox from 4pm until 8pm. Services will continue the following day with chapel prayers at the funeral home at 10:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 115 Ave. in Mokena at 11am. Sharon will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Support Center in Mokena in Sharon's name would be appreciated.
