Sarah “Kathy” Row, 64, of Frankfort, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois.
Kathy was born on May 6, 1961 to Clyde Arthur Groff and Rita Ann (Enterline) Groff in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
Raised in Dayton, Pennsylvania, Kathy graduated Dayton High School in 1979 and played basketball, volleyball and softball. During her childhood she and her sisters looked after their many pets; dogs, cats, horses, guinea pigs and ducks.
Kathy graduated Lenape Technical School and received her licensed practical nurse (LPN) certificate. She worked at various health care facilities in both Pennsylvania and Illinois and worked the past 20 years at Lincoln-Way School District as a paraprofessional.
In 2022 Kathy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Despite chronic pain and complications, Kathy maintained her fierce spirit and lived her life to the fullest. She traveled frequently, spent time with family and friends and was always ready for the next adventure.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Edward Row, daughters Mallory (Gage Kroljic) of Washington, D.C. and Lindsey of Davenport, IA (Tyler Geiger), sisters, Susan Scaife of Dayton, JoEllen (Dennis) Stockdale of Dayton, Amy Pepple of Punxsutawney, Karen (Steve) Williams of Fairmount City and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Rita Groff, and brothers-in-law William Scaife and Leon Pepple.
