In Loving Memory of Sandra Casey
Sandra (Sandi) Casey age 87 of Frankfort, IL, formally of Chicago Heights, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026. Sandi was born in Crete, IL to the late Albert and Margaret (nee Grimm) Hoecker.
She was predeceased by her cherished husband Francis.
Sandi was the devoted mother of Phillip (Gretchen) Casey, Erin (Elio) Zomparelli, and Daniel (Lisa) Casey; and her family tree blossomed beautifully, cherished “Grandma”, “Gram”, “Gramcracker”or “Oma” of Samantha (Michael) Kroll, Elio (Jordan) Zomparelli, Meghan (Philip) Thornburgh, Daniella Zomparelli, Erin (Juan) Gonzalez, Brian (fiancée Cici Coleman) Casey, Jay Casey, and Jenna Casey; proud great grandmother of Fiona, Jack, Daniel, Luke, Emma, Romie, and Esme; loved aunt, cousin, and friend of many. She was preceded in death by two brothers
Sandra was an avid reader and writer, especially devoted to genealogy and mystery novels. Books were her lifelong companions which influenced her gift for expressing her thoughts in the written word with clarity and grace. Whether through quiet reflection or heartfelt letters, she used words toinform and uplift.
Born with a natural gift for nurturing both hearts and minds, Sandi carried her love of learning throughout her life. A proud graduate of Bloom Township High School and Elmhurst College, she answered her calling as an elementary school teacher, where she helped shape young lives.
At home, Sandi’s greatest joy was her family. She delighted in each new grandbaby and great grandbaby, every milestone and accomplishment, with news shared in-person and in letters.
She also held a deep love for European travel. The ability to see first-hand her heritage and culture stirred her sense of wonder. From cobblestone streets, mountain villages, to grand cathedrals, she embraced each journey as an opportunity to learn and to marvel at the beauty of the world. Yet no matter how far she traveled, her heart always led her home to family. Sandi will be remembered for her gentle touch, her steady faith, her curiosity about the world, and her endless love of family.
Sandi was a proud member of St. Peter’s UCC, Frankfort, IL and thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship there.
The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10:00 am until time of Service at 12:00 pm. Sandi will be entombed with her husband at Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, IL.
