Ronald H. Smith, age 74, a lifetime resident of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. Loving husband of Dora Smith (Graf); beloved father of Vito (Kim) DiFronzo, Kristen (Marin) Acevedo and Don (Lisa) Smith; dearest brother of Norma (late Ken) McGrath; cherished grandfather of Michael and Mason DiFronzo, Samantha and Matthew Acevedo and Cole Smith. Ronald was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in Vietnam and was a Frankfort Police Officer for 34 years. He was a member of VFW Post #1493 in Frankfort, the Frankfort Lions Club, Illinois Police Chief Association, Illinois Juvenile Association and the Illinois Tactical Officers. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral service in the funeral home chapel on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 10-11AM. Interment will follow to Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort.
