RONALD G. STOPKA SR.

Age 88, of Monee, formerly of Frankfort passed away Thursday, March 16th, 2023 at Edward Hines VA Hospital in Hines IL.

Ronald is survived by his loving family, children, Kimberly (fiancée Michael Stanislawski) Rogers, Greg (Charity) Stopka, grandchildren, Bryan (Leah) Stopka, Lindsay Stopka, step-grandchild, Broc Bettell, siblings, Patricia Rauchenberger, Valarie Stopka and numerous cousins.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry & Jenette Stopka (Krysiak), wife, Patricia Stopka (Lundgren), brother, John Stopka and son in-law Peter A. Rogers.

Ronald was a United States Air Force Veteran (Strategic Air Command). He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mokena, active in the Knights of Columbus. Ronald was the former Athletic Director and department head of the Drivers Education program in the Lincoln-Way School District as well as the sponsor of the Lincoln-Way Ski Club.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Sunday, March 19th, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral service, Monday, March 20th, 2023 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 AM and then to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena IL 60448 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 at 10:00 AM. PLEASE ARRIVE TO THE CEMETERY BY 9:45 AM.
