Age 86, of New Lenox, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. Robert was born in Chicago to the late Victor and Lillian (nee Bannach) Cecich. Beloved husband of Rita (nee Canavan); loving father of Diane (Dennis) Talentowski, Robert (Joan) Cecich, and Rita (Stephen) Sawyer; cherished grandfather of David Talentowski, Rachael (fiancé Dario Mojarro) Talentowski, Mark Talentowski, Matthew Talentowski, Robert (Kelly) Cecich, Kathryn (Jason) Lay, Jolene (late Jeff) Olsick, Nora Cecich, Kelly Sawyer, Hayley Sawyer, and Mallory Sawyer; proud great grandfather of Gloria, Emma, Maura, Quinn, Penelope, Levi, Wells, and Hunter; loved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was a Tool and Die Maker, retiring from Ideal Tool. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Robert’s name to Dementia Society of America would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 2:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 5:00pm. Interment will be private.
