Robert J. Brown

Robert J. Brown, age 80, passed away suddenly, on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

Robert is survived by his wife Donna (nee White) Brown; children, Mike (Michelle) Kerschbaum, Jennifer (Brent) Kremnitzer, David (Kerrie) Brown, Steve (Courtney) Brown; his seven beloved grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; his seven siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Virginia (Duchala) Brown; siblings, Ralph Brown; sister-in-law Janet Brown.

He will always be remembered for being a diehard U of I, Cubs fan. In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and later in life he enjoyed gardening especially tomatoes, and rhubarb; He was always dedicated to his families and was always present for all his families and grandchildren’s’ events. In Roberts later years he was very involved with the honor guard at the New Lenox VFW, Post 9545. He was extremely devoted to his wife and her well-being and would always go the extra mile to take care of her. He was an extremely selfless man that always put others first. Robert was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew him.

Services for Robert will begin on Sunday, July 23, 2023 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, in New Lenox, from 12pm-4pm. Services will continue the following day, Monday, July 24, 2023 with a brief visitation from 8:30am until the time of the funeral service at 9:30. Robert will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 11am.
