Robert George Bollman

Born February 26, 1931, in Harvey, IL. Married to Marlen (nee Zeimetz) on February 20, 1952, answered God’s call and went to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 18, 2025, joining his best friend and wife, Marlen. Loving father of Jeffrey (Beverly) Bollman and Sheri (William) Arendt; cherished grandfather of Jack (Diana) Arendt, Jason Arendt, Grant (Abbey) Bollman, and Bryce Bollman; dear brother of the late Harold (late Harriet) Bollman.

Bob, a Certified Safety Engineer, retired from CNA Insurance after 36 years of loss control (safety) as Director of Loss Control Services Midwest Region.

He was very active in safety organizations in Chicago, serving as President of Greater Chicago American Society of Safety Engineers, President of Society of Casualty Safety, and Chairman of various committees of the National Safety Council.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War (1951-1954) in the Atlantic fleet aboard the aircraft carrier USS Roosevelt and a helicopter squadron stationed in Lakehurst, NJ.

Bob and Marlen enjoyed traveling during his working years and retirement. They traveled to all 50 states (thanks to credit card points). He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s name to Make-A-Wish Illinois would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Sunday, October 12, 2025, with visitation from 12:00 pm until time of services at 1:00 p m. Private interment with full military honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
