Richard R. Kobylecky

Richard Robert Kobylecky of New Lenox passed away on Friday, December 8th, 2023 at the age of 84. He is survived by his three loving children: Cathy (Bill) Keres, Jennifer (Toby Grabs) Kobylecky, and Tom (Yedid) Kobylecky, along with his dear sister Patricia (Bob) Kohl. He brought joy to his many grandchildren throughout his life, familial and adopted: Steve, Ron, Emily, Joe, Aleski, Teddy, Janet, Kimberly, Betsy, Katie, and Finn, as well as his 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Janet, sister Mary Ann, brothers George and Joe, and dear friend Juanita. He was loved by many and he loved sharing his jokes and funny stories with everyone he met. He raised his family in Worth, Illinois and drove a bus for the Chicago Transit Authority for 33 years. He moved the family to New Lenox in 2002, where he was a longtime volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital and served as an usher and choir member at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. He was a joyful, creative, and loving man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family published a book of his stories and poems that illustrate his many talents as a writer and storyteller. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, Friday, December 15th 4:00 pm to 8:00pm with a Eulogy Servie being given at 6:30pm. Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:30am St. Mary Magdalene Church in Joliet. In lieu of flowers you may donate to that same parish as you wish.
