Richard F. Gibson

Richard F. Gibson Age 89 of Mokena passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL. Richard was born in Chicago, IL to the late Henry “Mawk” and Jean (nee Czaus) Gibson. 

Beloved husband of Marcella (nee Matay) Gibson; loving father of Mike (Suzy) Gibson, Rick (Mary) Gibson, Ginny (Stan) Wisniewski, Richie (Sue) Thompson, Mark Thompson, and Jessica (Matt) Mucenski; cherished grandfather of the late Michael Medrano, the late Mario (Kate) Medrano, Michael Gibson, Danielle Gibson, Zach Thompson, Lily Thompson, Kendall Mucenski, and a new grandson in October; cherished great-grandfather of Isla Rose Medrano; dear brother of the late Ronald (late Nancy) Gibson; loved uncle, cousin, and friend of many. 

Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a retired tool and die maker for ITW Deltar. Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

A committal service with full military honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
