Richard E. Trevarthan

Richard E. Trevarthan, age 83, a longtime resident of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021. Loving husband of the late Janet Trevarthan (Jones); beloved father of Jeanne (Joe) Hartung, Richard "Bob" Trevarthan, David (Connie) Trevarthan and Michael (Sherry) Trevarthan; dearest brother of Coranne (Dennis) Smitley, Elaine (Michael) Arnold and Pam (Doug) Couch; cherished grandfather of Kyle Hartung, Alex Hartung, Matthew Trevarthan, Daniel Trevarthan, Grant Trevarthan and Megan Trevarthan; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Richard was owner of Trevarthan Landscaping in Frankfort and helped build Prestwick Country Club golf course in Frankfort where he was the superintendent for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Purdue University, a veteran of the United States Army, a longtime Trustee for the Village of Frankfort and avid golfer. Richard loved his family, friends and Frankfort. A visitation will be held for Richard at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 7:00PM. ALL IN ATTENDENCE ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCE. NO FOOD IS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING. The funeral services for Richard will be held Privately at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Frankfort and private interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Frankfort. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Peters United Church of Christ or Morning Star Missions would be appreciated.
