Richard A. Anderson, 90, of Frankfort, IL
Born August 12, 1934, in Chicago, IL, Richard A. Anderson passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior.
Richard is lovingly remembered by his daughters Laura (Rick) Rot, Dawn (Doug) Bruinius, and Carol (Dave) Binnendyk; his grandchildren Julie Brown, Jenny Rubino, Jeff Rot, Kari Dell, Tyler, Amy, and Karly Binnendyk; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his best friend and beloved wife, Lucille (née Banta); his parents, Oscar and Ellen (née Norberg) Anderson; and his siblings Carl, Kenneth, Harold, Norman, June, and Vivian Anderson, and Jeanette (née Anderson) Petta.
Richard had a long and fulfilling career as a lithographer before retiring. He later worked as a custodian at Moraine Valley Church and, in keeping with his lifelong devotion to the Cubs, he served as an usher at Wrigley Field. From 1954 to 1956, Richard served in the United States Army and remained active in veteran affairs as a member of the Tinley Park VFW, proudly participating in their Color Guard for many years. He was also a devoted member of Hickory Creek Church in Frankfort, IL.
A memorial visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 7:00 PM. Inurnment will be private. In tribute to his lifelong love for the Chicago Cubs, our family kindly invites friends and family to wear Cubs attire as we gather to celebrate his memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home - Manteno, 1 Veterans Drive, Manteno, IL 60950, in Richard's honor.
