Paul A. LaBuhn

November 10, 1954 — August 16, 2025

New Lenox, IL

Paul A. LaBuhn, born on November 10, 1954, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted family, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Paul married the love of his life, Janet (née Smith) LaBuhn. Their bond was one of true partnership and lasting devotion. They were blessed to have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Together, they raised four daughters who brought him immense pride and joy: Melissa LaBuhn, Nicole (Colleen) LaBuhn, Andrea (Donald) Larson, and Stacy (Joseph Jr.) Tucker. He often affectionately referred to them as “his four blonde-haired, blue-eyed angels.”

He was the proud and deeply loving Papa to Justin LaBuhn; Nolan, Gavin, and Hayden Larson; Madison, Joseph III, and Emily Tucker; and Taylor (Namit) Lal, Hailey, Luke, and Tommy Juricek. After retiring, Paul found true joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Caring for them became his passion, and he treasured every moment, every game, every laugh.

Born and raised in Markham, Paul was the beloved son of the late George and Marguerite “Margie” LaBuhn. He was a cherished brother to Donna (William) Cosmen, the late Janice (the late Caveniss) Allred, and Tom (Toni) LaBuhn. He was also a loving brother-in-law to Donna (the late James) Malinak, Scott (Deborah) Smith, and Pamela Blank. Loving uncle to many.

Paul attended Hillcrest High School where he built many friendships that lasted a lifetime. After high school, Paul established a long and dedicated career at Panduit Corporation, where he was known for his hard work and commitment. He retired after nearly 40 years of service, but his greatest work was the life he built with and for his family.

For the past 38 years, Paul made his home in New Lenox—a home he built with his own hands and poured his heart into maintaining. He could fix just about anything, learning as he went, and never shying away from a challenge. Every corner of the house reflects his care and pride, especially his lawn.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Paul didn’t just watch the games—he lived them. Whether it was coaching his daughters or cheering from the sidelines, his support never wavered. In recent years, he discovered a love for Pickleball, both playing and sharing the game with family and friends. His enthusiasm led to the now-beloved Annual LaBuhn Family Pickleball Tournament, a testament to his love of competition, laughter, and bringing people together.

Paul’s legacy is one of compassion, strength and loyalty. He embraced each day with purpose, whether it was enjoying time with family, tackling a new project, or sharing stories that made everyone laugh. His energy, determination, and generous spirit touched everyone he knew. He will be missed beyond words but remembered always with love. A Celebration of life will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Sunday August 31, 2025, from 12:00pm until time of service at 4:00pm.
