Patricia “Pat” A. (Staab) Porter January 8, 1950 – January 15, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” A. Porter on January 15, 2026, at the age of 76, to dementia. Pat passed peacefully in New Lenox, Illinois, surrounded by her devoted husband and children.
Pat was born and raised in Huntley, Illinois, where she spent her childhood in the 1950s forming the strong roots with family and friends that would define her life. As a young teacher, she met the love of her life, John Porter. They married in 1974 and built a beautiful life together, raising their family in New Lenox.
Pat found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. She was an avid gardener whose flowers brightened her home, a talented baker known for sharing her creations, a dedicated golfer, and a patient puzzler who loved a good challenge. She especially cherished hosting holiday gatherings and dinner parties, bringing family and friends together around her table. Winters spent in Florida created treasured memories, particularly when shared with her children and grandchildren.
Above all, Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John; her three children, Jen (David), R.J. (Jennifer), and Erin (Dan); her mother, Roberta; her sisters, Kristine and twin Pam; her brother, John, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was a proud and loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Levoni, Augie, Jasper, Hazel, Isla, and Finn, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
A memorial will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, Illinois 60451, on April 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM-12:00pm. . In lieu of flowers, memorials in Pat’s name may be directed to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration. Dementia Society of America
