Nicholas J. Ranieri Sr., age 87, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. Nicholas was a graduate of Bloom High School, Class of 1954. He then became a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame Class of 1958. Nick excelled in the wine and spirits industry for the next 40 years. In his spare time, Nick was an avid golfer and master gardener. Nick was a resident of Olympia Fields for 44 years before moving to Lockport, IL. He was a devout Catholic and proud parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church.
Nicholas is survived by his beloved children, Christy Chiszar, Julie (Mike) Chivini, and Nicholas (Katie) Ranieri Jr.; his cherished grandchildren Lauren (Bryan) Buck, Janine Chiszar, Michael Chivini, Jessica Chivini, Jake Chivini, Nicholas Ranieri III, and Alyssa Ranieri
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Phyllis (nee Cameli) Ranieri; his parents Sertorio and Sylvia (nee Maciariello) Ranieri; his brother Jeffery Ranieri; and his in-laws Belmont and Rose (nee Ignoffo) Cameli.
Services for Nicholas will be held on Friday, April 5th, 2024, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road with a visitation from 9:30AM - 11AM. A Mass of Chistian Burial will be held at St. Veronica Catholic Church in Flossmoor at 12:00 PM. Nicholas will be laid to rest with his beloved wife at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital in Nicholas’s name would be appreciated.
