83, of Joliet, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Daniel N. Colanto; loving mother of Greg (Lisa Cardona) Colanto, Jeff (Esther) Colanto, Tim (Cheryl) Colanto, and Susan (Matthew) Kojs; cherished grandmother of Jason Colanto, Jennifer (Michael) Kazda, Gregory (Sameena) Colanto, Tim (Heather) Colanto, Matthew Kojs, Daniel Colanto, Olivia Colanto, and Kevin Kojs; and great-grandmother of Gregory Daniel III Colanto; dear sister of Therese Etzel, late Joseph Lathrop, Patricia Symer, Judith (George) Serlovsky, Thomas (Irene) Lathrop, John (Dora) Lathrop, and Paul Lathrop. Marie was a member of the 1st graduating class from Our Lady of Charity Mission and member of the Tabernacle Society. She was a former Cub Scout Leader, and enjoyed gardening. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451, on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 3-8 PM. Funeral service Friday, December 2, 2016 with chapel prayers at 11:30 AM to St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd Ave., New Lenox, IL 60451 for a 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial.
