Norman C. Tischer

Age 83, longtime resident of Lockport; passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn R. nee Werner; loving father of June (John) Wassenaar, Nancy (Dean) Mitchell, and Cindy (John) Daigle; dear step-father of Nancy (Larry) Novander, Dean (Nancy) Mitchell, Mark (Kathy Smith) Mitchell, David Mitchell, and Kirk Mitchell; cherished grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather; also survived by Joyce Tischer. He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Dora Tischer nee Pucks; and brothers Ray and Larry Tischer. Norm was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 18 in Lockport, member of the VFW Post 5788 in Lockport, member of the Moose Lodge, and a die hard Cubs Fan. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, IL 60441, on Tuesday, December 18th, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Interment Mount Vernon Memorial Estates, Lemont, IL.
