Mr. James M. Lapenda

James M. Lapenda, was born April 4, 1928 in Chicago, IL., and passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 in Lemont at the age of 88. His loving wife, Jo Anne Foglton Lapenda nee Marchet preceded him in death in 2015. Loving stepfather of Michael (Kimberlee) Foglton and David Foglton; cherished grandfather of James, Nicholas, and Caroline Foglton; dear uncle of Darlene (Chip) Cleminson, and Gail (Cliff) Darnton; and great-uncle of Dr. Monique Cleminson. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maria Lapenda, and sister Madeline (Gigi) Lapenda Kneis. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was loved by everyone who met him. Often referred to as "Grandpa," "Pop," and "Jimbo." His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family and his fellow gun club buddies. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL., 60451on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 10:00 AM until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
