James G. "Jim" Berka
Age 72, of New Lenox, formerly of Lemont and Chicago, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Beloved husband of Kathy (Fitzgerald); loving father of Kristin (Jeff) Ward, Patrick (fiancé Jillian Chmura) Berka, Thomas Berka, Brian Berka, and Katie Berka; cherished grandfather of Kelan, Liam, Kane, Addie, and Finn. Jim was a United States Viet Nam Marine Veteran. He was a member of VFW Post 7300, member of Carpenter's Union Local 10, and avid fisherman. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment private.
