Michael Knous Williams
Michael passed away peacefully on June 22, 2018 at the age of 78. He was born on February 16, 1940 in Canton, IL to the late Ronald and Claire (nee Knous) Williams. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy (nee Roemmich), and he is survived by his second wife, Judy (nee Kyle) Svancarek-Williams; two daughters, Denise (John “Tip”) Coffin and Melissa (Kenneth) Johnson; son, Brian; five grandchildren with Nancy: Sadie and Hannah Coffin, Kieran and Rhys Johnson, and Piper Williams; four grandchildren with Judy: Kyle, Laura, Rachel, and Annika Svancarek; and brother, Neil (Jane) Williams. Mike was a Speech and Language Pathologist with Bloom Township High Schools in Chicago Heights for over 30 years, and a professor at Governors State University. He was recognized as a Fellow with Illinois Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. He was actively involved in the local classic car community. A memorial service will be held at Faith United Protestant Church of Park Forest, Illinois, on July 7th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or to the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Foundation in his name.
