Michael Rixon Irvine

Michael Rixon Irvine, 71, of Frankfort, left his earthly home on October 19, 2026.

Michael was born on July 6, 1955 in Chicago to Rixon and Catherine (Cash) Irvine. He married Kathy Grolla on October 12, 1975. They recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Together, they had three children- Laura (Scott) Carlson, Christopher Irvine and Stacy Irvine. His three grandsons, Wyatt Rixon, Emmett Michael, and Lorenzo Rixon, carry on his name.

Michael successfully ran a scrap metal business for decades. He loved working with his family and longtime employees.

Michael was quiet and introspective. He was also a keen observer who loved nothing more than seeing his family and friends happy. He was a dog lover who always had a companion, usually a Labrador or a pug, by his side. He was always happiest at home with his family and his dogs.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents.

In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, he is survived by his siblings, Karen (Charles), Scott (Kathleen), Lynn (Robert), Patricia (Stephen) and many nieces and nephews.

Lying in State, Friday October 23, 2026 from 10:00 AM to time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL 60423.

Arrangements entrusted to Kurtz Memorial Chapel Frankfort, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423.

Interment Private.
