Michael Langlois, age 56, passed away suddenly due to injuries sustained from an auto mobile accident, on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (nee Swanson) Langlois; step-daughter, Kelli Mathis; mother, Kay (nee Williams) Langlois; siblings, Darrell (Kim) Langlois, Michelle (Michael Podwika) Langlois, and Mathew (Erin Haughton) Langlois; and seven nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Michael is preceded in death by his father Darrell Langlois; and his beloved feline friend Spanky.
Michael was a sports fanatic, and loved the Chicago Bears and White Sox. He was genius in sports trivia and was a basketball ref for many years. He was a graduate of Providence Catholic High School and obtained his Bachelor’s degree from DePaul University. He worked many years at the New Lenox Park District, and later in life at the Circle K corporate offices. Michael had an infectious laugh, and adored his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed travelling, taking cruises and having the time of his life in Las Vegas. Michael was a sweet man and will be missed by all that knew him.
Services for Michael will begin on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. from 2pm-8pm. Services will continue the following day, Thursday, September 8, 2022 with a brief visitation at the funeral home from 9:30am-11am. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd Ave, in New Lenox at 11:30am on Thursday. Per Michael’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
