Merle L. Bettenhausen

Age 83, of Tinley Park, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Merle was born in Blue Island, IL to the late Walter and Sylvia (nee Ricchio) Bettenhausen and was raised on the family farm in Tinley Park, IL. Beloved husband of Nancy J. (nee Detrick); loving father of Brian (Pamela) Bettenhausen; cherished grandfather of Jacob Bettenhausen and Allie Bettenhausen; dear brother of Margie (late August) Badali; brother-in-law of Judy Detrick, loved uncle of Steve (Merle’s Godson), Tom, and Tony Badali and numerous other great-nieces and great-nephews. Merle was a truck driver for Standard Oil (Amoco) and a U.S. Army Veteran. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to NAWS in Mokena, IL to honor Merle's love of animals. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Tuesday November 22, 2022, from 3:00pm until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00pm. Everyone will meet at Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, IL for entombment with military honors on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 10:00am.
