MATTHEW “MATT” GORGA

Age 71, of Mokena, passed away Monday, June 23rd, 2025 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Matt is survived by his loving family, wife, Sue Gorga (Trella), daughter, Jennifer (Nick) Spano, grandchildren, Harper Spano, Jackson Spano, siblings, Frances Gorga, Pat Gorga, sisters in-law, Patty (Garry) Kearnes, Laura Trella-Owak, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew J. & Theresa Gorga (Fierro), siblings, Ed Szudy, Cathy Richter and brother in-law Tony Trella.

Matt was a member of the Laborers’ Union Local 5 for 35 years. He was a car enthusiast and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially time with his grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment, Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Orland Park IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
