Age 52, of New Lenox, IL passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. Matthew was born in Harvey, IL to the late Larry and Dianne (nee Benson) Thormeyer. Beloved husband of Amy (nee Lovegren) Thormeyer; loving father of Luke, Kevin, and Claire; dear brother of Jason (Theresa) Thormeyer; loved uncle of Laurelei, Sophia, and Gunnar Thormeyer, and Noelle, Paige, and Cecilia Lovegren; devoted son-in-law of Bill and Judy (nee Schnotala) Lovegren; loved brother-in-law of Paul (Melanie) Lovegren and Chad (Carrie) Lovegren; nephew, cousin, and friend of many. Matt was Principal at Burnham Elementary School Dist. 154.5, where he previously served as Dean, Athletic Director, and as a Special Ed. Teacher. He also assisted with the Oak Forest High School and Providence Catholic High School football programs. Matt was a proud former Cast Member of the Walt Disney Company. Matt will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 3pm - 8pm. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, December 10, 2022, with prayer at the funeral home at 9:30am to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox, IL.
