Born May 15, 1952, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late George E. and Lucille D. (LaPlante) Derrico.

Mark was always there to help anyone in need. He worked hard all his life, starting as a paperboy in the southside Chicago neighborhood of Roseland. He also sent his 2 daughters through 8+ years of dance class.  Mark worked for "Ma Bell" Telephone Co in Chicago until moving with his family to North Carolina and then Georgia for highly technical careers in networking and testing technology.

Mark is survived by his children: Rachael O’Connor, Elizabeth (Timothy) Gade, Anthony & Daniel Derrico, Grandchildren: Michael O’Connor, Aria Dresden, Tori (Lamont) Tejan & Dominick O’Connor, Tiffany (Luis) Abarca, Brittany, Deborah, Alyssa & Suzanne Gade, Anthony, Hailey, Vincent, Alessia & Katelynn Derrico, Great Grandchildren: Elijah & Lucas Abarca and Nikoli Gade.  He is also survived by his sisters Judy (Daniel) Steidl and Debbie (Daniel) Noel, siter-in-law Patricia (Frigge) Derrico as well as nieces and nephews.  May Mark rest in heavenly peace with loved ones who proceeded him in death not only by his parents, but also by his former wife, Susan (Wagner) Derrico, his brothers, Phil and Dave Derrico and son-in-law, James T. O’Connor III.
