Marilyn L. Viano

Marilyn L. (nee Hartman) Viano, age 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Cottages of New Lenox.

Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Donna (John) Keagle, Patricia (Richard) Gilbert, Lawrence (fiancé Diana Roberts) Viano, Bette (James) Cunningham, Robert (Laura) Viano; grandchildren, Gina Madrigal, Rebecca Paputsa, Nathan Keagle, Megan Viano-Peron, Megan Moore, Olga Viano, Kelsey Reid, Jennifer Domagala, Tyler Gilbert, Jimmy Giordano, Sabrina Miglorini; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Eugene Viano; parents, Franklin and Olga (nee Voight) Hartman; brother Frank Hartman; sister Betty Dunn; and grandsons Gregory Gilbert and Kyle Keagle.

Marilyn was an especially good bowler and used her expertise at her job at Strike and Spare in Lockport for over 30 years. She was very proud of her farm life upbringing, and had a love of all animals for her whole life. Many family weekends were spent at South Wilmington Beach Club fishing and swimming. She always had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. Marilyn was also a proud member of Cross Point Church where she spent many Sundays. Most of all Marilyn will be remembered for the love she had for her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd in New Lenox, from 4pm until the time of the memorial service at 7pm. Inurnment will be held privately.
