Louis J. Claich 67, of Schererville IN, was born in Chicago to the late Bert and Delores Claich and passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife Maureen Weybright-Claich, children and family by his side. Loving father of David (Marisol) Claich, Erika (Josh) Gryniewicz, Angela (Kevin Stern) Forsyth, and Aaron (Tracy) Barnhart; cherished grandfather of Justin Forsyth, the late Jessica Forsyth, Jonathan Claich, Charlotte Claich, and Alyssa Barnhart; great grandfather of Olivia Forsyth; dear brother of Bert Claich, the late Linda Claich, late Bonnie (Sweetie) Claich, and the late Ronald Claich; brother in law to Mike (Denise) Stec; fond uncle of Melissa (Mike) Autullo, and Andrew Claich; and Great uncle of Eleanor Autullo. Lou worked for Republic Services at the steel mills for 28 years as an Operations Supervisor, now known as Cleveland Cliffs of East Chicago Indiana. Lou loved fishing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family. A celebration of life will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way on August 5, 2023 from 9:00am until the time of service at 11:00am, where services will conclude at 12:00pm.
