Larry loved his family, friends and country. He spent 7 years serving in the Army in military intelligence and achieved the rank of sergeant. Larry settled in Florida where he worked in the Everglades as an airboat captain and then transitioned to the USPS where he retired from. Larry had a passion for art, languages, traveling, disc golfing, gaming with family/friends and all nature’s creatures especially reptiles. Larry’s favorite place to travel was Brazil and he was able to spend three weeks exploring the Amazon forest just last year. Larry may have dealt with cancer for the last 4 1/2 years but he did not let this stop him from exploring the world with his most recent trip being to Thailand/South Korea only two months ago.
Services for Larry will be held on Friday, January 3rd, 2024 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, in Frankfort, with a visitation from 3pm until the time of service at 7pm. He will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood IL on Monday, January 13th, 2025 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the American Cancer Society or Lightways Hospice in Larry’s name would be appreciated.
