Kenneth J. Szajerski

Age 69, of Mokena, passed away Thursday, January 15th, 2026 surrounded by his family at his home.

Ken is survived by his loving family, wife, Julie Szajerski (Daleo), mother, Alice Szajerski (Sosnowski), children, John (Stephanie) Szajerski, Molly (Tyler) Burlison, siblings, Karen Mindas, Karl (David Levitt) Shires, Karla (Scott) Wills, grandchildren, Brighton, Alessa, Lucy, Mia and one on the way.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Frank Szajerski.

Ken retired as a Union Carpenter after 35 years of service and then worked for Loyola University; retiring a second time in 2023. He greatly enjoyed sports, traveling, motorcycles and tinkering in the garage while listening to the Blues.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
