56 of Wauconda passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Ken was born in Chicago to the late Kenneth Sr. and Patricia (nee Higgins) Bernd. Loving father of Amanda Bernd and Kailey Lindsey; Cherished Pampa of Georgia Podmolik; Beloved brother of Joseph and Edward; former spouse and dear friend of Kimberly McCormack.
For over 30 years, Ken has been servicing the Broadcast and Entertainment industry building relationships and making friends across the globe. In 2011, he accepted a position at Clark Wire & Cable as National Sales Manager. He was promoted to General Manager in 2017, a title he held with great pride and respect until his untimely passing.
Ken enjoyed cooking for others, going to rock concerts with his daughters, and playing Roblox with his granddaughter. He will be remembered for his dry wit, colorful sarcasm, genuine care for others, and unconditional love for his family, friends, and co-workers.
The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1pm – 5pm. Interment will be private.
