The family of Kathleen (Kathy) Rauter, née Reddington, is deeply saddened to announce her peaceful passing on May 28, 2026, at the age of 80. Kathleen was from Mokena, formerly Homer Glen (47 years), and born in Chicago. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Kenneth Rauter, her parents Harold and Mary (née Trendl) Reddington, her brother Mickey Reddington and sister Marilyn Schultz. Loving mother of Kimberly (Bob) Murphy, dear sister of Patricia Sieloff, Thomas (Karen) Reddington and Stanley (Donna) Kasper, sister-in-law of John Schultz and Linda Reddington, beloved Aunt, Godmother, Cousin & friend to many.
Kathleen retired from working for 30+ years for a Chemical Company in Bedford Park where she had many titles over the years from Purchasing, Human Resources, Production to Controller. She continued her dedicated work ethic as the company changed ownership several times throughout her career. Kathleen loved spending time with family and friends and going out to eat. She enjoyed her daily Lattes, watching the White Sox play, playing bunco, sudoku, watching Dancing with the Stars, game shows and spending time with her cat Gibbs. Despite health issues that arose over the past decade, she fought through every hurdle that came her way. Her strength, kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
The Rauter family will receive family and friends for a Memorial Visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL. 60423 on Saturday June 13, 2026, from 11am to 3pm (Memorial Service at 2:00pm).
