Kathleen M. Schmitz

Kathleen M. Schmitz, age 86, passed away peacefully on April 30th, 2021.
Kathleen was survived by her loving children, Julie Schmitz, Debbie (Mike) Childs, Vicki Schmitz, Jeri Gulli, and David Schmitz; grandchildren, Stacy Childs, Rob (Jill) Childs, Mike (fiancé Katy) Childs Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Jeanne (nee Sarna) Phillips; and her siblings Joan McAllister and John Phillips.
Kathleen enjoyed a good mystery novel and to travel when she could. During her many travels, she visited Singapore, shopped for jade jewelry in Hong Kong, rode the hydrofoil to Macau to gamble in the casino, walked in the steps of the gladiators in the Colosseum in Rome, ate crepes in Paris, and drank afternoon tea with her sister Joan in London. She collected English cottage figurines, and loved amber jewelry. She had a career in healthcare, and after retirement, continued to give back to her community by assisting seniors with their taxes. She fought tirelessly to ensure her daughter Vickie was given all the opportunities for a quality education, and continued all her life to advocate for her. She will be missed by all that knew her.
