Judith Ann Reed (1944-2024)

Judith ”Judy” Ann Reed (nee Walus) of Frankfort IL passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the age of 79. Judy was born on Chicago’s South Side to parents Genevieve and Larry Walus. She graduated from Lindblom High School in 1962 before going on to attend the University of Chicago where she studied Physical Education and played on the basketball team. Judy worked in accounting and f inance in the food industry. She married the love of her life, George, in 1973 and embraced her role as mother to his 3 children. After retiring, Judy loved golfing, spending time with her husband, children and beautiful grandchildren, as well as her dear friends. She also passionately rooted for her favorite Chicago teams, the Bears, White Sox and Blackhawks. 

Judy was preceded in death by husband George, stepson David, sister Joan, and brother Brian. She lives on in the hearts of her loving family, daughter Laura Tuider, son Bradley Reed (Katie), and grandchildren Blair, Kylie, Jacob, Mabel and Lukas. She is also survived by brother Larry (Pam), and brother Wayne (Renee).

In accordance with her wishes, Judy will be cremated and laid to rest next to her late husband and best friend, George at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. A visitation and memorial service is scheduled at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort, IL on Sunday, May 26, 2024. The visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the memorial service immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org would be greatly appreciated.
