Judith B. Planinc (nee Krall)
April 1, 1937 – March 27, 2024
Age 86 of New Lenox, IL passed away at home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Judy was born in Joliet, IL to the late John and Mary (nee Olech) Krall. She attended St. Thaddeus Grade School, was a 1955 graduate of St. Francis Academy, and was a life-long devout Catholic. She was employed at Public Service Company (ComEd) in Joliet where she met the love of her life, Robert. Judy enjoyed spending the next several years raising her children and thereafter watching her grandchildren grow up. She returned to the workforce and spent several years as Recreational Supervisor with the New Lenox Park District. She enjoyed planning bus trips to various events and locations and enjoyed the many people she met throughout the years. Judy was involved in various activities, whether playing park district women’s and co-ed volleyball, women’s and senior tennis, or planting flowers at New Lenox parks. She was a former Red Hatter and member of Joliet Garden Club. An astute speller, she was proud of her 2014 Senior Spelling Bee award. Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Planinc; loving mother of Darlene Zmolek, Linda Planinc, Theresa (late Peter) Patras, Kathleen (late Bryan) Dixon, Jean (Duane) Stanford, and the late Janet (Conrad) Brown; cherished grandmother of Stephen (Sabrina) Zmolek, Scott Zmolek, Mandi Dixon, Jacob Dixon, Cassandra (Greg) Bishop, Rachel (John) Derry, Kyle Stanford, Tyler Stanford, Jennifer (Matt) Kenah, Cassandra Patras; great grandmother of Carley, Joey and Zachary Zmolek, Kinsley and Adley Dixon, Mason Derry, Lucas, and Gabriel, Margaritte, and Elizabeth Kenah; loving sister of William Krall, the late Virginia (late Richard) Susner, and the late Robert Krall; dear sister-in-law of Judy Theisen and the late JoAnn (late Ken) Sak; beloved Godmother, aunt, cousin, and friend of many. Judy will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 9:00 am until time of prayers at 11:00 am, then to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Joliet, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
