Joseph "Pops" Mieszczak

Joseph “Pops” Mieszczak, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, at Silver Cross Hospital.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife Connie (nee Mullen); children, Chris (Christine) Mieszczak and Melissa (John) Donegan; and his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Noah, John, Jake and Skylar.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Angeline (nee Ranadazzo) Mieszczak.

Pops was a fun-loving guy that could put a smile on anybody’s face. He worked for the Cook County Sheriffs Department for over 30 years until his retirement. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing and hunting anywhere that he could. He also had a soft spot for his dogs, especially his late dog Holly. Above all else though, his greatest joy in life was sitting in his backyard visiting with his family and watching the kids play in the pool. Joseph was a kind man and will be missed by all that knew him.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. in New Lenox from 2pm until 6pm. Masks and social distancing are mandatory at the funeral home.
