Joseph “Joey” Gomez

Age 57 of New Lenox passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL surrounded by his loving family. Joey was born in Chicago to Virginia (nee Herrera) Gomez and the late Jose Zermeno.

Beloved husband of Katie (nee Seguin) Gomez; loving father of Jay Gomez, Niko Gomez, and Natalie Gomez; devoted son of Virginia Gomez; dear brother of Henry Gomez, Harold Gomez, and Jimmy (Jackie) Gomez; loved son-in-law of Carol and the late Jim Seguin; cherished uncle, cousin, and friend of many.

Joey was a self-employed Patent Specialist, an entrepreneur, and owner of Lincoln-Way Construction. Joey was an avid Dallas Cowboys and University of Michigan football fan. He was a former player for Force of Illinois Semipro Football Team, and he was a member of the Hamburg Athletic Association. Joey enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 3 pm – 8 pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 1, 2025 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 am then to St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. Second Ave, New Lenox, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will be private.
