Age 91, of New Lenox formerly of Chicago, was born into eternity on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Treasured husband of Sylvia Stack (Welenc) for 70 years; loving father of Daniel (Kim) Stack, Susan Newman, Diane (Donald) Daum, Robert (Ranee) Stack, Barbara Ferry and Lawrence (Lynn) Stack. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Blessed with a large family since his early childhood, Joe had 11 siblings; all preceded him in death. Joe was a proud marine who served in WWII. He was a member of VFW Post #9545 and American Legion Post #1977. After retiring from People's Gas Company with 41 years of service, Joe found great satisfaction through volunteer work at St. Jude Church. For 25 years, he was an important part of its Caritas program, making sure the donations came in continuously to the food pantry. Loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Joe found a way to create some special aspect in each individual relationship and he brought a smile to everyone. He will be remembered as a positive, supportive man who loved his family very deeply. A memorial visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 3-8PM. A memorial mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church 241 W. 2nd Ave. New Lenox IL 60451 on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00AM.
