Jolane M. Gervasi, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with her family by her side. She is now reunited in heaven with the love of her life, John Gervasi.
She was the loving mother of Janelle Tracy (the late Scott) and Kristen (Rick) Kingery; proud grandmother of Presley, Kaleb, Tessa, and Chloe; dear sister of Wayne Miller, Karen (Jan) Groenewold-Miller, and Frank (Teri) Stauersboll; loving aunt to many nieces and nephews; and a cherished friend to countless others.
Jolane was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 4, 1955, to the late Walter and Lorraine Miller. After graduating from high school, she moved to Arizona with her closest friends. A few years later, she returned to Illinois, where she met her “Cookie,” John, the love of her life.
A true travel enthusiast, Jolane loved nothing more than exploring the world with her family and friends. From planning unforgettable vacations to owning her own travel agency, there was nowhere she wouldn’t go and nothing she couldn’t accomplish. She found joy in helping others create lifelong memories through travel, and her adventurous spirit inspired everyone around her.
Whether it was an extravagant family vacation to one of her favorite destinations or a simple girls’ night out, Jolane had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. The remarkable stories she shared and the countless photographs she captured throughout her travels will continue to be treasured by her family for generations to come, keeping her adventurous spirit and beautiful memory alive.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. A prayer service will follow from 1:45-2p.m. in the funeral home chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – Walk to End Alzheimer’s in support of Team Anthem Memory Care.
