John R. Gervasi

John R. Gervasi, 76, of New Lenox, passed peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2020 with his family by his side. He was beloved husband of Jolane (Miller); loving father of Janelle (Scott) Tracy and Kristen (Rick) Kingery; proud grandfather of Presley; dear brother of Eva (Frank) DeCesare; and loved uncle of Peter (Michelle) DeCesare and Amy (Bob) Lullo.

John was born in Blue Island, Ill. on Dec. 27, 1943, to the late Pasqaule and Caroline Gervasi. After completing his bachelor’s degree at Marquette University in 1966, John returned to Chicago, where he met the love of his life, Jolane. John completed his Juris Doctor at DePaul University in 1969. Jolane and John spent much of their younger years traveling the world and enjoying adventures together. John relished cruises and family trips to Italy and their vacation home in Long Boat Key. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family, dogs (Ralph and Mandy), and grand dogs while watching movies at home. You could always find John at a local eatery enjoying the company of family and friends. John’s love for his family was matched only by their love for him.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL, 60423, with a prayer service from 2-2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
