John Michael Jackson, age 66, of New Lenox, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Silver Cross Hospital.
John was born on October 23, 1959, he is survived by his loving life-long partner, Wanda Ragland, his parents, Bill and Sally Jackson, his 2 brothers, Bill (Jr.) and Mark, and his niece Megan Baker. John and Wanda’s shared family includes Sherry (John) Sheehy, late Bill (Krissy) Ragland, David (Lauren) Ragland, their 8 children and 5 grandchildren, and Lori Ragland.
John graduated from Lincoln-Way Central Highschool in 1978 and went on to study at Joliet Junior College and the Devry Institute of Technology, where he studied to become an electrician. John worked as an electrician as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union No. 176 .
John loved sports, including golf, wrestling, baseball, and football. John won many athletic awards and achievements, including 2 Illinois state wrestling championships (1st place in 1971, 2nd place in 1972). John also received Lincoln-Way football MVP as a starting lineman.
Visitation will be held on May 15, 2026, at 10:00 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in New Lenox, Illinois. Interment will be at Marshall Cemetery in Mokena, Illinois.
Memorial donations in John’s memory may be directed to https://www.kidsgolffoundation.org/programs/ or your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
